LCT Stages Summer Camps 2023 AGES 12-18
 
Join a wide variety of professional teachers, actors, artists, and mentors that will have your student performing and creating ALL summer long.
 
  • Each half-day camp is only $90 for Stages members and $100 for the public.
  • If students would like to be in Cinderella: Youth Edition, they must attend all 4 weeks of the summer intensive sessions.
  • Students must bring a lunch if attending all day.
  • Students will present a showcase or art project at the end of every camp.
  • Students may be signed in 15 mins before the class begins and will need to be signed out within 15 mins of ending. Please contact us if you need an earlier drop off. Breakfast club options can be applied for students needing to be signed in from 8 AM and signed out by 5 PM.

Cinderella: Youth Edition
A 4-week Musical Theatre Intensive for ages 12-18!

LCT's Stages Academy is offering a 4-week Musical Theatre Intensive this summer. This experience is meant to give our older artists (ages 12-18) a look into what goes into a full-scale musical production. There will be a cap of 20 students for this 4-week camp.
 
Our curriculum is centered around a full-scale production of a musical. Directed by Edward Funderburke and Music by Jordan Sanders. Students will audition, learn choreography, sing, and act in this public production for family, friends, and our community. 
 
Dates: July 1st-28th
Times: Monday-Friday 9:00AM-4:00PM
Tuition: $450 (scholarship opportunities available)
 
  • Auditions will be the first day of camp July 1st (for casting only, all registered students will be a part of the production) 
    • be prepared to sing 32 bars of music (or a chorus and verse of your favorite song)
    • be prepared for cold readings, or bring a prepared monologue.
 
JUNE 3rd-7TH
  • Tech Design - 9:00AM-12:00PM
    • Young creatives dive into the world of stagecraft, constructing miniature sets inspired by their favorite musicals and plays. Through hands-on exploration of scale, materials, and storytelling, budding designers bring their visions to life, learning the art of crafting immersive environments that capture the essence of theatrical magic.
  • Art Week - 1:00PM-4:00PM
    • Budding artists unleash their creativity through a myriad of mediums. Guided by skilled instructors, campers explore their imagination, develop new techniques, and forge lasting friendships in a vibrant and supportive environment.
JUNE 10TH-14TH
  • Musical Theatre – 9:00AM-12:00PM
    • Aspiring performers immerse themselves in the vibrant world of song, dance, and storytelling, mastering the art of stage presence and emotional expression. With expert instruction and hands-on experience, students discover their unique voice and develop the skills to shine under the spotlight.
  • Voice Acting – 1:00PM-4:00PM
    • At the voice acting camp for kids, budding performers learn the art of bringing characters to life through vocal expression and technique. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, young talents explore various genres and hone their skills in a supportive and creative environment.
JUNE 17TH-21st
  • Film Making - 9:00AM - 4:00PM
    • Ever wanted to create your own short film? Learn how to Cast, costume, scout locations, and film a short to be shown to family and friends. 
JUNE 24th-28th
  • Cast Me! Auditions and Monologues – 9:00AM-12:00PM
    • Learn proper audition techniques, work on monologues,  slates and build an audition reel with headshots. Showcase for family and friends at the end of the week!
  • Stage Combat – 1:00PM-4:00PM
    • Aspiring performers learn the art of choreographing thrilling fight scenes with precision and safety. Under the guidance of seasoned instructors, participants master techniques in hand-to-hand combat, swordplay, and physical storytelling, gaining the skills to captivate audiences with dynamic and convincing action on stage.
JULY 1st-5th
  • Costumes 9:00AM-12:00PM
    • Students will learn basic sewing skills and how to put together a costume. They will also work towards designing and making their own creation to take home with them.
  • Reel Talk 1:00PM-4:00PM
    • Love MOVIES?!? Love Clubs? Come sit with us as we enjoy some of cinemas' finest offerings and have discussions about character development, setting, cinematic elements, and historical context. Definitely for the MOVIE BUFF. Movie list available by request.
JULY 8th-12th
  • D-n-D Role Play  – 9:00AM-12:00PM
    • Adventurers gather to embark on epic quests, strategize, and unleash their imagination in a world of dungeons, dragons, and daring feats. Guided by seasoned dungeon masters, participants delve into immersive storytelling and collaborative gameplay, forging bonds and crafting unforgettable tales along the way.
  • Advanced Make-Up & Wigs  – 1:00PM-4:00 PM
    • Experienced artists delve into intricate techniques, mastering the transformative power of cosmetics and hairpieces in stage and screen productions. Participants refine their skills in prosthetics, character creation, and styling, elevating their artistry to new heights under the guidance of industry professionals. Supply will be provided.
JULY 15TH-19th
  • What's My Line? Improv  – 9:00am-12:00pm
    • Campers will learn improv techniques through games, writing, and performing. This camp is great to engage in creative thinking and public speaking
  • PodCast - 1:00pm-4:00pm
    • Learn the ins and outs of recording, content creation, editing, and posting your own podcast.
JULY 22nd-26TH 
  • ImpACT - 9:00am-12:00pm
    • Learn interview techniques, social media trends, and public speaking while hosting LCT’s ImpACT News program. Students will learn to plan out segments, interview artists, other students, leaders, and hear from industry professionals. 
  • Tech Week - 1:00pm-4:00pm
    • Students will learn different areas of technical theatre such as lights, sounds, and set design. The techniques they will learn will be applied in helping with the summer intensive of Cinderella: Youth Edition.
